Petroff DDS uses the newest technology to ensure you get the best treatment! - [Accessibility](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/accessibility/): commander viagra www.broadvisiongroup.com - [Technology](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/restorative-dentistry/technology/): Dr. Petroff’s commitment to using whatever tools and technology will improve her patient's’ care and comfort now includes our 3M(™) digital scanner. The digital scanner is a small wand that takes digital impressions of your teeth to send to a dental lab. It’s used for anything that we make impressions for—crowns and bridges, veneers, and dental implants as examples. The scanner create detailed, 3D images that can be transmitted to our dental labs, rather than sending molded impressions of your teeth. And for our patients, it means no more clunky trays with molding material. - [Oral Surgery](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/restorative-dentistry/oral-surgery/): Dr. Petroff performs minor tooth extractions in our office. But if you need major tooth extraction, such as wisdom teeth or a bony impacted tooth (when the tooth hasn’t pushed through the gum), we will coordinate your treatment with an oral surgeon. - [Crowns/Bridges](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/restorative-dentistry/crownsbridges/): Crowns are a great solution for restoring your tooth to its appropriate shape and size. A crown covers the visible portion of your natural tooth all the way down to the gum line and may be recommended for several reasons. If you have a large filling that needs to be repaired or replaced, or if your tooth is weak or fractured, a porcelain crown might be your best option. - [Porcelain Inlays/Onlays](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/restorative-dentistry/porcelain-inlaysonlays/): Minor cavities can be filled with a composite resin, or white filling. But if the decay is more severe, there may not have enough of the tooth left to support a filling. If this is the case, but you still have enough tooth left that you don’t need a crown, then Dr. Petroff can restore the tooth with a porcelain dental inlay or onlay. - [Fillings](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/restorative-dentistry/fillings/): The most common restorative procedure completed in a dental office is a filling. Fillings are performed to remove a decayed portion of your tooth, but they can also be used to repair damaged, chipped, broken, or worn teeth. Dr. Petroff uses the safest, most modern dental technologies available when placing fillings. - [Smile Whitening](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/cosmetic-dentistry/smile-whitening/): The safest, quickest, and easiest way to effectively whiten your teeth is with an in-office treatment using Philips Zoom2. After careful evaluation, Dr. Petroff chose Zoom2 because of the amazing whitening effect and the clinical trials that support the results. The Zoom2 technology is safe and reliable and is clinically proven to whiten teeth up to eight shades in just one office visit. - [Composite Bonding](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/cosmetic-dentistry/composite-bonding/): Composite bonding is used to restore cavities, often called white fillings. We can also cover stains and cracks in your teeth with the composite dental resin and even fill in a chipped tooth so it looks as good as new. It takes years of training, an artist’s eye, and careful attention to detail to make the dental bonding completely indistinguishable from a natural tooth! - [Gum Recontouring](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/cosmetic-dentistry/gum-recontouring/): When you need to have more of your tooth exposed to treat it below the gum or to make it line up better with other teeth, then Dr. Petroff can lengthen the tooth by removing or reshaping a small amount of the gum surrounding it. - [Full-Mouth Restoration](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/cosmetic-dentistry/full-mouth-restoration/): There are many reasons why someone might need full-mouth restoration, where most or all of the teeth need some form of treatment, repair, or enhancement. - [Minimal-Prep Veneers](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/cosmetic-dentistry/minimal-prep-veneers/): For some people, traditional porcelain veneers may not be the best choice. An alternative to traditional veneers is minimal-prep veneers. They look the same as traditional veneers, but require less tooth preparation and enamel reduction. - [Porcelain Veneers](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/cosmetic-dentistry/porcelain-veneers/): A porcelain dental veneer is a conservative crown that can totally change the appearance of your teeth by straightening, lengthening, and whitening teeth, providing you with a beautiful smile and more comfortable bite position. Made from a thin, custom-made piece of porcelain that is applied to the visible portion of a tooth. A veneer preserves a larger amount of the natural tooth structure, thus keeping the tooth very strong and durable. Porcelain veneers will not stain and are incredibly resilient and non-abrasive to opposing teeth. - [All-On-4](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/implant-dentistry/all-on-4/): An advancement in implant-retained dentures is All-On-4. If you’re missing all of your teeth, you could have every tooth replaced with an individual implant. Or if you have implant-retained dentures, you have as many implants as necessary to secure the implant. - [Implant Retained Dentures](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/implant-dentistry/implant-retained-dentures/): When a person doesn't have any teeth in the jaw, but has enough bone to support implants, Dr. Petroff may recommend implant-retained (or implant-supported) dentures. - [Technology](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/general-preventive-dentistry/technology/): During our exams, we use an intraoral camera to look at your teeth in detail, tooth by tooth. This camera is a hand-held device, about the size of a pen. You’ll be able to see what we see, in real time, on your chairside monitor. Using the intraoral camera lets us look at your teeth in more detail than with X-rays. - [Emergency Care](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/general-preventive-dentistry/emergency-care/): Accidents can happen to anyone. A toothache can attack at any time, and you know it needs immediate attention. If you or anyone in your family needs emergency dental care, please call our office as soon as possible. We will see you that day in the office, or help you find emergency care if we can’t. - [Sleep Apnea Treatment](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/general-preventive-dentistry/sleep-apnea-treatment/): Snoring is common problem that can also indicate sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a serious condition where the muscles around the tongue and throat relax while you’re sleeping. This can block the flow of air to your lungs, causing you to stop breathing. While the body usually wakes up and restores normal breathing, sometimes it doesn’t, and while rare, the sleep apnea sufferer could die. - [Mouthguards](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/general-preventive-dentistry/mouthguards/): If you are prone to grinding your teeth or clenching your jaw in your sleep, you could wake up with sore jaw muscles, chronic headaches, earaches, and jaw pain. A mouthguard could help minimize your symptoms and prevent you from grinding your teeth while sleeping. A night guard is a comfortable, removable appliance that acts as a splint to protect the jaw joint. - [Fluoride Treatments](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/general-preventive-dentistry/fluoride-treatments/): The discovery of fluoride and its ability to control tooth decay is one of the most important medical discoveries ever made. Fluoride helps prevent tooth decay by slowing the breakdown of enamel and strengthening weak spots on teeth and exposed roots. Many public water systems now add fluoride to your drinking water. If you don’t have public water, or if your teeth are resistant to fluoride, Dr. Petroff or your hygienist can apply a fluoride treatment for you or your children as needed. Of course, you can help by brushing regularly with a fluoridated toothpaste. - [Periodontal Therapy](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/general-preventive-dentistry/periodontal-therapy/): Gingivitis and periodontal disease occur when bacteria from plaque grows on your gum tissue, either above or below the gum line. Accumulating bacteria can cause serious inflammation, which makes the pockets between your gums and teeth deeper and more inflamed as the amount of bacteria increases. This can lead to the gums and bone tissue deteriorating until you begin to lose teeth. - [Hygiene](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/general-preventive-dentistry/hygiene/): We like to see our patients every six months for a professional cleaning, to ensure that you maintain a healthy smile. Regular dental visits, along with good home care, help prevent oral health issues. Professional cleanings involve the removal of tartar and stains with hand instruments, followed by polishing to eliminate remaining stains and plaque. Polishing is available in two methods, traditional paste and a rotating “brush” or a Prophy Jet. The Prophy Jet is a polishing unit that uses water pressure with a powder, like baking soda. This is a quicker and sometimes more effective way of removing plaque and stains without the residual “gritty” sensation from the traditional paste and brush. The results are a very clean feeling and a beautiful luster. - [X-Rays](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/general-preventive-dentistry/x-rays/): Dental X-rays are an important tool in the diagnosis of dental problems. Dr. Petroff uses a digital x-ray system to minimize the amount of radiation a patient receives. Digital X-rays use 80 percent less radiation than traditional X-rays. The X-rays allow Dr. Petroff to provide a thorough dental examination. Radiographs reveal tooth decay, tooth abscess, cysts or tumors, impacted teeth, and the health of fillings, crowns, bridges, and root canals. They can also reveal bone loss from periodontal disease and detect tartar buildup. If you are a new patient, or are in need of a dental treatment, please expect a full set of X-rays to be captured during your dental examination. - [Oral Cancer Screenings](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/general-preventive-dentistry/oral-cancer-screenings/): Oral cancer is one of the most common causes of cancer deaths in the U.S. Smoking and alcohol can contribute to the risk of oral cancer. Another risk is from the sexually-transmitted HPV virus. - [Comprehensive Exams](https://www.hjpetroffdds.com/dental-services/general-preventive-dentistry/comprehensive-exams/): “Comprehensive” takes on a whole new meaning at the dental office of Dr. Heather Petroff in Broadview Heights!
